Job Description:

Updater, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Senior Fullstack Engineer with extensive experience in Ruby and/or Python for a remote position within our dynamic MoveHQ division. In this role, you will play a key part in improving both the frontend and backend of MoveHQ’s move management platform. Your contributions will enhance the platform’s reliability, scalability, and overall performance while fostering a collaborative culture within the MoveHQ engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead Development of New Features: Design, develop, and integrate new features, utilizing Ruby and Python for backend enhancements and frontend integration support.
• Optimize Platform Performance: Collaborate closely with the team to improve software quality, reliability, and performance.
• Technical Project Leadership: Guide complex projects within the MoveHQ product roadmap, ensuring adherence to security, quality, and performance standards.
• Mentorship and Development: Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices in Ruby, Python, and fullstack development.
• Enhance CI/CD Processes: Oversee and improve the CI/CD pipelines, ensuring agile and seamless deployment processes.

Qualifications:

• Experienced Fullstack Developer: 5+ years of web development experience with strong expertise in Ruby and Python, alongside frontend technologies.
• Proven Delivery of SaaS Products: Demonstrated success in developing and deploying scalable, high-performance SaaS solutions.
• Technical Leadership: Experience in senior roles within fast-paced, collaborative environments, ideally within startups.
• Database Expertise: Proficiency with relational databases and ORM frameworks, capable of optimizing data interactions.
• Testing and Automation: Familiarity with modern testing frameworks and a commitment to high-quality software through rigorous testing and automation.
• Agile Development: Strong understanding of agile methodologies, such as Scrum, and experience with tools like Jira.
• CI/CD Expertise: Proficiency with continuous integration and delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitHub Actions).
• Effective Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of collaborating across teams and producing clear technical documentation.
• Experience in Regulated Environments (optional): Experience developing software in compliance-heavy or government-regulated industries is a plus.

Additional Details:

This job posting will remain open until November 20th, 2024. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $190,000 annually, dependent on experience and qualifications aligned with Updater’s internal guidelines.
