The Hartford is seeking a Remote Customer Service Representative to join its Group Benefits division, supporting businesses with services like administrative, billing, and technical support for Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, and Supplemental Life products. Our contact center offers a collaborative environment focused on teamwork and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tech support to assist customers with website navigation and troubleshooting technical issues.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal customers.
- Handle inbound customer calls with active listening skills to understand individual needs and provide personalized solutions.
- Process customer emails and requests with attention to detail, utilizing critical thinking.
- Answer benefit and billing inquiries related to Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, and Supplemental Life products.
- Adhere to compliance and performance processes, both verbal and written.
- Use critical thinking to quickly analyze customer needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Take ownership of each customer interaction to enhance The Hartford brand and exceed expectations.
Schedule:
- Training Hours:
- 7:00 am – 3:30 pm PST
- 8:00 am – 4:30 pm MST
- 9:00 am – 5:30 pm CST
- 10:00 am – 6:30 pm EST
- Post Training Schedule: Assigned approximately two weeks after training, anytime between 8:00 am – 8:00 pm EST, Monday-Friday.
Compensation:
- Base Pay: $23 per hour with opportunities for growth.
Qualifications:
- Strong technical skills to troubleshoot complex issues and explain solutions in simple terms.
- Ability to empathize and connect with customers.
- Background in customer service, insurance, retail, or related fields.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple programs and online resources.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to clarity, tone, and etiquette.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is preferred, but not required.
Additional Requirements:
- High-speed broadband internet is required for remote work (DSL, wireless, Wi-Fi, or satellite connections are not supported).
- Must meet internet speed requirements: 100MB download / 10MB upload.
- Internet provider-supplied modem/router must be hardwired to the Hartford-issued computer via ethernet cable.
