Job Summary
As an AI/ML Engineer, you will lead a remote team, transforming business questions into actionable data insights. This hybrid role focuses on leveraging your knowledge of data infrastructure and your ability to deliver insightful recommendations. You will develop, train, and deploy models while helping to set department objectives. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in hiring, promoting, and guiding the team to achieve success in remote work.
Minimum Qualification:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
- Experience Level: Entry Level
- Experience Length: 2 years
Responsibilities:
- Architect, build, maintain, and improve new and existing algorithm suites and their underlying systems.
- Implement end-to-end solutions for both batch and real-time algorithms, including tooling for monitoring, logging, automated testing, performance evaluation, and A/B testing.
- Leverage an entrepreneurial mindset to optimize business processes and enhance user experiences by developing and prototyping solutions.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to design and deploy new product features.
- Establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation.
- Write efficient, well-organized software in an iterative, continuous-release remote environment.
- Promote and contribute to good software engineering practices across the team.
- Share knowledge and best practices to enhance team skills.
- Actively contribute to community best practices and reuse of valuable methodologies.
Requirements:
- A university or advanced degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience developing and deploying machine learning systems in production.
- Expertise with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka).
- Hands-on experience with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Proficiency in object-oriented/object function scripting languages such as Python, Java, C++, or Scala.
- Ability to work effectively in a Linux-based environment.
- Industry experience building innovative, end-to-end machine learning systems.
- Strong ability to prototype ideas and solve complex problems using creative approaches.
- Experience with distributed systems, service-oriented architectures, and designing APIs.
- Strong knowledge of data pipeline and workflow management tools.
- Expertise in standard software engineering methodologies, including unit testing, test automation, continuous integration, code reviews, and design documentation.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
