Role Summary:
As a Staff Software Engineer (Frontend), you will be instrumental in developing and shaping the user interfaces across our open-source and commercial offerings. You will lead frontend initiatives, mentor other developers, and collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver top-tier, scalable web applications. Your work will influence not only the technical aspects of Prefect’s interfaces but also the information architecture and user experience design.
What You’ll Do:
- Architect and implement robust frontend systems using modern web technologies.
- Lead technical decision-making processes for frontend projects, establishing best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.
- Contribute to product roadmaps and influence technical strategies.
- Optimize client-side application performance, ensuring an exceptional user experience.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentoring and feedback to team members.
Your Qualifications:
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on frontend development.
- Demonstrated leadership as a technical lead within development teams.
- Mastery of JavaScript (TypeScript), HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks (React strongly preferred, Vue is a bonus).
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization techniques.
- Experience in creating complex single-page applications, with expertise in state management, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Familiarity with backend technologies and RESTful APIs (Python experience is a plus).
- Proven track record in mentoring developers and leading successful projects, particularly within SaaS products at scale.
