Job Overview:

The Community Solution Education System is seeking a creative and motivated Social Media Intern to support our system-wide Marketing Department. They will support the creation of social content for our community of colleges and universities—The Chicago School, Saybrook University, Pacific Oaks College, The Colleges of Law, University of Western States, and Kansas Health Science University.

This intern will help curate, create, and publish engaging content across our social media channels using tools like Hootsuite, CapCut, and Canva. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about social media, considers themselves a content creator, and is ready to contribute to brand storytelling that connects, engages, and inspires.

This internship includes a special capstone project (detailed in a separate internal document), focused on launching the social media presence for the Illinois College of Osteopathic Medicine at The Chicago School.

Responsibilities:

· Develop engaging social media content (e.g., posts, reels, graphics, GIFs) for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and X (formerly Twitter)

· Draft, edit, and schedule posts in Hootsuite in accordance with content calendars

· Collaborate with the Social Media Team and other marketing teammates on editorial planning

· Support social listening, basic community engagement, and comment moderation

· Ensure all content upholds institutional brand standards (written and visual)

· Assist in researching trends, best practices, and inspiration in higher ed and beyond

· Pull performance insights and help ideate strategies to improve content reach and engagement

· Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and creative reviews

Requirements/Qualification:

· Rising junior or senior pursuing a degree in Marketing, Digital Strategy, Communications, Journalism, or a related field

· Strong writing and communication skills with an eye for visual storytelling

· Experience with or interest in using tools such as Hootsuite, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express, etc.

· Demonstrated creativity through social media handles, a personal blog, or other online content

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a remote work environment

· Self-starter who enjoys working both independently and collaboratively
