What We Do
The Business Systems team at BetterUp empowers our teams to deliver top value to members, partners, and coaches by building, enhancing, and architecting products, services, and tools. Our team plays a key role in supporting our FedRAMP offering, refining the system used by our engineering organization to accelerate federal platform development.
What You’ll Do
- Lead: Spearhead projects with multiple developers and complex requirements. Solve strategic problems holistically and prioritize key initiatives.
- Craft: Consistently write high-quality, maintainable code. Stay on top of industry trends and apply best practices.
- Empower: Build data systems and processes to enable teammates. Create thorough documentation and resources for onboarding.
- Mentor: Guide and teach engineers at all levels. Foster an inclusive and effective engineering culture.
- Collaborate: Use data to answer business questions and drive product decisions. Engage in meaningful discussions and partner with cross-functional teams.
What We’re Looking For
- Alignment with BetterUp’s mission of enabling self-driven behavior change
- Initiative and ownership, with the ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing environment
- 7+ years of relevant technical experience, some of which in a startup or remote work environment
- Expertise in building enterprise applications using Ruby on Rails, Ember.js, AWS, etc.
- Experience developing FedRAMP-compliant systems
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies like SCRUM, Kanban, or Lean Startup
- Strong communication skills to present complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field

The base salary range for this role is $148,784 – $223,150, subject to adjustments based on experience, education, and location. This does not include equity, bonuses, and additional benefits.
