Community Change builds the power and capacity of low-income people, especially people of color, to lead dynamic movements for social change. Our vision centers on empowering impacted communities to drive work on immigrant rights, economic justice, and racial equity, including jobs, housing, early childhood care, education, income support, and immigration reform.

This role also supports Community Change Action, an affiliated 501(c)(4) advocacy organization. Both organizations share values of equity, inclusion, and justice but operate independently with distinct boards of directors.

Position Description:
The Executive Coordinator will provide high-level strategic and administrative support to the Co-President of Community Change/Action, with a strong focus on scheduling, travel management, and planning. This is a remote work position, allowing the Executive Coordinator to contribute from anywhere. This role also provides occasional backup support for the broader Executive Office, fostering a professional and collaborative remote-first work culture.

The Executive Coordinator is an innovative self-starter with strong time management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. The role requires discretion in handling confidential information and internal/external communications. Adaptability, flexibility, and the capacity to work independently in a remote setting are key traits for success.

A portion of the Executive Coordinator’s time will be spent supporting Community Change’s sister organization, Community Change Action.

Principal Responsibilities:

Co-President’s Administrative Support:

  • Manage the Co-President’s calendar, ensuring strategic time management for all meetings and appointments.
  • Compile and prioritize meeting requests for the Co-President’s review and communicate updates promptly.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of the Co-President.
  • Prepare for meetings by organizing materials, capturing notes, and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Book travel for the Co-President’s out-of-town events and meetings.
  • Complete financial tasks, including reimbursements, timesheets, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Executive Projects to review and refine scheduling and administrative processes.

Events and Project Coordination:

  • Coordinate logistics for remote meetings, conferences, and presentations, including preparing materials, agendas, and minutes, as well as managing travel and vendor contracts.
  • Support other projects as directed by the Director of Executive Projects.

Writing and Communications:

  • Draft and format professional emails and letters for internal and external communications.
  • Prepare travel or meeting-related documents, itineraries, and reports.
  • Routinely communicate with Community Change/Action board members and take notes during board meetings.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience supporting senior-level executives, including calendar management.
  • 3+ years of experience in a fast-paced non-profit environment.
  • Excellent discretion, flexibility, and judgment in managing confidential matters.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills, especially in a remote work environment.
  • Familiarity with 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations and the broader social justice landscape.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, Slack, and Zoom video conferencing.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with a commitment to advancing economic, racial, and gender justice.
  • Comfortable using remote work tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, and Slack.

Reporting To: Director of Executive Projects
Supervisory Requirements: None
Travel Requirements: Some limited travel may be required.

Salary and Benefits:
Annual salary: $75,000 – $85,000. Community Change offers an excellent benefits package, including 4 weeks of paid vacation, additional holiday leave, summer break during the week of July 4th, employer retirement contributions, and health insurance plan options.

Classification:
This position is not part of Community Change’s bargaining unit.
