Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Remote Elementary Math Teacher to instruct students in Kindergarten through 5th grade. As part of our remote team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering engaging and comprehensive math lessons, fostering a love for learning, and helping students excel academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver remote, interactive math lessons to elementary students (7-10 classes/week, approx. 12-20 hours/week)
- Tailor lessons based on Think Academy’s curriculum, ensuring student engagement and comprehension
- Conduct one-on-one evaluations with new students to ensure proper class placement (5-10 hours/week)
- Grade assignments and provide weekly progress updates to parents (5-7 hours/week)
- Participate in paid teaching assistant roles, learning from lead teachers and honing your skills
- Collaborate with the teaching management team on other assigned tasks
Work Hours:
- Teaching Hours: Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Monday and Tuesday off)
- Flexibility outside of teaching hours—class schedules take priority!
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (all majors welcome, STEM and Education backgrounds preferred)
- Prior experience teaching math is advantageous but not required
- Available to work full-time, Wednesday to Sunday, starting November 2024
- Passion for teaching and working with children, with strong communication skills, especially with parents
Compensation & Benefits:
- Teaching Hours: $30 – $40/hour
- Administrative Hours (Lesson Prep, Grading, Parent Communication): $16 – $20/hour
- Estimated Total Compensation (1st Year): $40,000 – $50,000/year
